Remove scabby old door card, but before you throw it away, draw around it onto some hardboard.
Bung another sheet underneath chop the edges off with a jigsaw, then drill some suitable holes.
Visit B&Q for some nice Fablon, in either plain colours, or embarrassing print, though not as embarrassing as the carbon effect 'performance' stuff ;-)
Not much more than an hour later, they are in the car !
The layout for the dash area is sorted now, it just needs some carpet to cover the shelf and hide the wiring.
